Dakar 2017 – Stage 3 – MINIs Moving Up

MINIs Moving Up -Dakar Stage 3

Day three of the 2017 Dakar Rally ran 780km from San Miguel de Tucumán – San Salvador de Jujuy, Argentina. Higher temperatures and altitudes proved a challenge for many teams, especially with the added complexity of this year’s first true off-road segments.

Mikko Hirvonen and Michel Périn in the 303 MINI John Cooper Works Rally had a very strong day, finishing 4th for the stage, and moving up to 4th overall for the event. “Today was really good; everything was working perfectly. Michel did a great job in the beginning so we had a really good run. It was a little bit technical and twisty in places but I feel like that’s the best place for us to fight against others so I really pushed like hell in the corners.” said Hirvonen post stage.
