Dakar 2017 – Stage 2 – MINIs Maintain Top Ten Spots

MINI John Cooper Works - Top Ten Spots

In this early stage of the event, two MINI teams continue to maintain positions in top ten spots. Yazeed Al-Rajhi in his MINI John Cooper Works Rally sits in 6th place in the cars class, while Mikko Hirvonen is in 8th.

Day two of the Dakar Rally across South America is complete! The fast stage today traveled from Resistencia to San Miguel De Tucumán, Argentina. Today’s route; 275km, was expected to be full of hazardous mud and dust. Those expectations were met as teams arrived to check points nearly unidentifiable.

Second place MINI finisher Hirvonen said: “It was a really fast stage. Completely straight for 10 kilometres at one point and nearly flat out all the time. There’s a long way to go but today was good for drag racing and not so much for rallying.”
