MINI Cooper Sets Record At Nurburgring

Sure, a good lap around the world famous Nurburgring in Germany will take less than 8 minutes. The best vehicles can squeak by in under 7. So why did it take a MINI Cooper 45 minutes to complete a lap? You try driving almost 13 miles on two wheels…

MINI Cooper Two-wheeled Record - Nurburgring

That’s exactly what Chinese stunt driver Han Yue did while taking on the 1,000 feet of elevation changes and 154 turns of what’s normally the dream road for lovers of fast cars.

Han kept his R56 MINI Cooper S at around 13mph for the duration of the trip to keep his solid rubber all terrain tires from causing too much vibration. “So this lap was a lot slower than I liked, and that makes it much more difficult,” he said. “My shoulder was hurting by 6 kilometers, with 15 kilometers still to go.”
