In April, we told you about BMW’s car sharing service called ReachNow that was exclusively available in the Seattle, Washington area. ReachNow has now officially launched in its second city, Portland, Oregon, with a fleet of 260 vehicles, including the BMW 3 series, and both the MINI Clubman and 2-door Hardtop.
“The city of Portland has long been ahead of the innovation curve, especially when it comes to transportation and technology, and we believe ReachNow aligns perfectly with the city’s commitment to innovative mobility solutions,” said Steve Banfield, CEO of ReachNow.
ReachNow allows members to “rent” vehicles on a per-minute basis, creating easy access to private vehicles in urban environments. Rates include fuel and parking fees while a user is assigned to a vehicle, and users can easily locate and access a car via the ReachNow smartphone app.
In celebration of the Portland launch, ReachNow will be holding a member exclusive concert featuring local band YACHT, a DJ, a live graffiti artist installation and a selection of local food trucks on the evening of September 23. Members can RSVP at reachnow.eventbrite.com. Membership to ReachNow is currently free, so Portlanders should take advantage, and sign up to attend.
