27105067123_8b97d19f08_bWith their 255bhp tuned JCWs, the MINI CHALLENGE will pair up its racing program with the British GT Championship for six rounds in 2017 as an extra single model series. With 20 years of growth, a new relationship with British GT (run by SRO Motorsports Group) will bring added exposure to MINI on some of Britain’s most popular motor sport stages. The JCW group will also head up racing at the MINI Festivals at Brands Hatch and Oulton Park.

gt-cupSRO General Manager Bernadette Fitzsimons said: “We at SRO are very pleased and excited to have the MINI CHALLENGE joining the British GT package full-time for next season. Over recent years The Championship has marked itself out to be the most entertaining single-make series in the UK and having it run with us in the UK will only enhance the spectacle of race weekends as a whole.”

In addition, a recent announcement by MINI UK indicated that they will give increased technical and parts support to the MINI CHALLENGE championship for 2017 onwards, providing a solid foundation for the future of MINI motor sports.
