The pairing began the multi-day rally strong, but a punctured tire on Saturday cost their X-raid team entry precious time and positions. “Well, this is rally and it is pointless to speculate what would have happened if not for the flat tyre yesterday,” said Holowczyc. “We were driving on our limits but I am happy because, after a one year pause, I was still able to drive very fast. Huge thanks to all the fans that were supporting us this weekend in Szczecin. It gave us amazing power and energy.”
Additional MINI All4 finishes included Jakub ‘Kuba’ Przygonski and Tom Colsoul in fourth place, Erik van Loon with Wouter Rosegaar in fifth, and Boris Garafulic and Filipe Palmer with a respectable 9th place in their class.
The next Cross County Rally event takes place in Morocco for the Rally du Maroc, October 3-8.
