An End To An Era… MINI Paceman Has Come To An End

Era may be a stretch, but according to the MINIUSA website, new production of the MINI Paceman has come to an end. When attempting to use the configurator on their website, the following notice is presented:

MINI Paceman has come to an end
MINI USA website explaining that the Paceman can no longer be custom configured.

Potential buyers can still access the Paceman configuration site, but at best they’ll need to ask a dealer to search available inventory.

A quick check on several other countries local MINI websites does not display such a message, although most other markets are using a different variation of the website MINIUSA uses. At least one market (Australia) Has removed the Paceman from its available lineup online.

MINI Australia no longer lists the Paceman as an option, although it is represented in the John Cooper Works section.

MINI PacemanThis shouldn’t come as a surprise to most fans of the MINI, as the Paceman has been a notoriously bad seller. A two door version of MINI’s largest offering, and one of the best-selling models, the Countryman, many felt the practicality of a mid-sized vehicle was lost without back doors. Having sold only 57 units for the year as of the end of July, the Paceman was fortunate to be hanging on as it shared production facilities with the Countryman. We suspect that with the pending introduction of the new Countryman, and no word or evidence of a new two door variant, that the Paceman is indeed gone for good, and available production lines may begin to prepare for the new F-model variant of the Countryman.
