Waiting For A Countryman Turnaround? – May 2016 US Sales

Auto sales as a whole in the US may have taken a dive, but both MINI USA, and BMW in the US reported continuing dismal numbers for the month of May, 2016.

MINI USA sales dropped a huge 21.2% for the month compared to 2015, a loss of 1238 new vehicles. Pre-Owned sales were not reported due to a “technical issue” but in April were the only positive sales segment for MINI USA.

There have been multiple reports of motoring advisors recommending that buyers interested in larger models such as the 4 Door Hardtop or Countryman wait until the 2017 redesigned Countryman comes to market. If this is the case, hopefully those buyers don’t find another manufacturer that can fit their needs pending an expected late year release of the new Maxi-MINI.
