Mixed Results For MINI All4 Racing At Italian Baja

P90224945-lowResThree days of racing in the Northern Italy’s rocky riverbed proved challenging and exciting for contenders in the 23rd Italian Baja. Numerous lead changes made for an interesting event. Unfortunately, punctured tires, and a bout with mud reduced the enjoyment of stage wins and podium finishes to 5th and 6th place overall finishes for the MINI All4 X-raid Team.

“We got a flat tyre,” said a still smiling Menzies. “It’s just bad luck. We had to stop and change the wheel. At the end I didn’t know where we had placed because it was so close. Never mind; I still had fun and learned a lot.”

The next race on the schedule for MINI All4 Racing is the Baja Aragón (Northern Spain) in late July. In addition to the competition, the FIA World Cup for Cross Country races are used as important testing for teams preparing to compete in the Dakar Rally 2017. The X-raid team believes they gained valuable knowledge for next year.
