A 2-door (3 depending on your market) F56 MINI Cooper. Chili Red in color. Body panels covered in checkered flag graphics, and a thin layer of mud. It appears to be the non-S variant, probably to help keep the “Reasonably Priced” concept as legitimate as possible.
Gordon Ramsey was the first celebrity guest seen testing his skills around the track. We all know Ramsey as the loud and rude television chef, but apparently his skills in the kitchen convert over to skills behind the steering wheel. Reports say that he was very comfortable in the MINI, and obviously he can hold his own in front of a camera.
Guest number two was actor Jesse Eisenberg. Best know for portraying Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network. Eisenberg’s spot on Top Gear is timed perfectly to promote his upcoming starring roll in Now You See Me 2 which is scheduled for release on June 9.
Top Gear is scheduled to return to the BBC on May 29. The new hosts Chris Evans and Matt Le Blanc have raised a bit of controversy from fans who are upset over the loss of long time leaders Clarkson, May and Hammond. Guests of the first recording claim the Evans was not having a good go at the experience. Stating that he yelled at the audience for things like not laughing at joke, and standing incorrectly.
Many have said they won’t watch the new version. Some hope that the BBC will still give in, and bring the originals back.No matter how you feel about the cast line-up, if you’re a fan of the MINI, you just might have to check the “New” Top Gear out, just to see that hardtop tear up some tarmac.
Will you be watching, or is this some MINI action you don’t want to see? Let us know in the comments.
