Indy 500 Driver Would Rather Be In His Mini

Graham Rahal and his 1964 Morris Mini CooperGraham Rahal is no amateur when it comes to fast, fun, and exotic cars. The son of 1986 Indianapolis 500 champion Bobby Rahal, Graham knows a thing or two about four-wheeled excitement. Having owned examples like a Ferrari F40 and a Porsche Carrera GT, there’s only one car Rahal says he’s holding onto…

…the Mini is my baby. It’ll be with me forever.

The Wall Street Journal goes deeper into the 27 year old’s love for Minis, the story of how he personally rebuilt his 1964 Morris Mini Cooper, and how his father’s love for the small car guided him to restoring it as his high school senior project.

Rahal will be competing in the upcoming 100th running of the Indy 500 for Rahal Letterman Lanigan in the #15 Honda/Dallara, a slightly larger, and much faster speed machine. Let’s just hope that if he wins, he doesn’t have any spilled milk to clean up in his classic beauty.
