Texas Distribution Center Opening

BWM Group celebrated the official opening of it’s new Vehicle Distribution Center [VDC] in Galveston, Texas today. The new facility will serve Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Arkansas dealers where BMW and MINI has recently seen significant sales growth.

“Why Galveston? BMW’s Southern Region is growing faster than any other region in the US,” said Stephan Reiff, Vice President, Aftersales, BMW of North America. “Building this facility allows us to continue to deliver the highest quality vehicles while providing faster delivery times to our customers.”

BMW vehicles at the new BMW Vehicle Distribution Center at the Port of Galveston, Texas on April 20, 2016.The 20 acre VDC will process over 32,000 vehicles a year where they are unloaded from trans-atlantic ships, inspected, then have accessories installed, and computers programmed. Afterwards, vehicles are either stored on site, or transported to the 45 dealers in the region.

This new facility should increase delivery time for new MINI purchasers who’ve ordered custom configured vehicles from factory allocations.
